GPS Jamming - There is a significant amount of GPS jamming occurring in the region. This can cause planes to appear in places they aren't actually flying, make them appear to be flying in circles and cause them to jump around the map. As a general rule, tracking data in the region can't be trusted to be accurate right now.

Cargolux appearing over Iran - There has been a near daily Cargolux flight from Hong Kong to Ashgabat that appears to be flying over Iran. It is not. The black line means it is outside of ADSB coverage and its position is being estimated. It landed in Ashgabat as planned, but did so outside of ADSB coverage. Because FR24 couldn’t “see” it land, it assumes it continued flying at its last known altitude and heading, which is why it appears to be over Iran.

I was browsing and noticed SAS936 had a custom name: "SAS (Captain Linevik’s Last Flight)". Aviation has some of the best traditions, but seeing the tracking community honor a pilot's retirement right on the map is incredibly wholesome. Blue skies and a happy retirement to the Captain!

Have been watching this for 20+ min. Has been maintaining altitude around 3700 feet and speed 180-220 knots. Why would they be flying this pattern and at this altitude for so long? Just a curious person :)

Hi! I didn’t know these types of posts were on this sub, so out of curiosity does anyone know why this flight would have been diverted to Tokyo? I’ve been tracking it for a bit as i’m taking this route next month and I just found it so odd that it would be because of weather because why would they land where the weather looks worse? Clearly idk anything lol. It may be too late to tell as this was 3 days ago, but figured i’d ask anyway :) thanks!
